Roadworks & closures

Overnight lane closures on the A42 J11 to M1 between 27 July and 9 October

Maintenance work is due to start on Monday 27 July 2020 and is scheduled for completion by Friday 09 October 2020. To minimise inconvenience and disruption to road users, we will work overnight from Monday to Friday between 8:00pm and 6am.

To maintain a safe environment for workforce and road users, we will need to install Lane 2 closures in both directions while we work. Closures will be in phases and we will start the first phase at M1 (Finger Farm roundabout). Both carriageways will be open as usual outside of our working times

A 50mph speed restriction will be in place during the night. Laybys within each phased section will be closed from 13.00 hours through to the end of each night shift.

RoadworksMessage from Eurovia

It has finally come to the time for us to say a sad goodbye from our onsite team at Eurovia Contracting as we have now demobilised our site office compound from the Ashby Rugby Club and moved on to the next project.

We hope we did OK but still want to do better on future projects. I wondered whether you could take a couple of minutes to fill in a short questionnaire >> and return it to me via email Thanks.

I am pleased to announce that we were invited to attend the Considerate Constructors Annual Award Ceremony in Manchester a couple of weeks ago and were thrilled when we were selected for a "Gold Award" for the A42 J13 Project by the panel of judges and were also over the moon to have received one of only 23 "Most Considerate Runner Up Awards" out of 341 projects registered with the scheme. This is a great achievement and are now known as the "Leicestershire A Team" within Eurovia Contracting North's Division.

I have had the pleasure of working on this scheme with the lovely people in the area both from a residential and business background. We have been honoured to be able to help the community in the area by carrying out works to enhance the Peggs Green Rec at Zion Hill, remove graffiti from the bus shelter, donate Hi Viz Vests to their First Community Responders (date TBA), to donate recycled road materials to the Swannington School to help with their Eco build, to loan barriers and cones to the Nature Trail in Newbold, to enhance the parking facilities at the Ashby Rugby Club, erect new gates and clean out their perimeter ditches and to donate a Defibrillator to the club which we hope will never be needed!

Our job on this extremely busy junction has been made very easy by the patience, and enormous co-operation shown throughout the works and we as a team would sincerely like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of the residents, to your companies and your staff for the help over the last 19 months. It has been appreciated by us all.

Safe travels.
Kind regards

Cleaning grafitti from the bus shelter

While the roadworks have caused us all some disruption Eurovia Contracting have provided Coleorton with some help with projects around the parish. They made some of their equipment and manpower available to help clean the grafitti from the bus shelter on the Ashby Road and cleaned the play surface at the Peggs Green Rec with their mobile jet washer and painted the goal posts. Thank you.
