welcome to coleorton parish

Coleorton is a small but thriving village and civil parish in North West Leicestershire. The market town of Ashby de la Zouch lies approximately two miles to the west. Coleorton comprises a number of small “pockets” of settlements so appears to spread over a large area despite having a population of only around 1,200.

It is very likely that the parish is defined by land owned by the Beaumont family. In the mid-19th century more than 90% of the parish was owned by the Beaumonts, and their family seat, Beaumont Hall, is still a dominant feature on the skyline although it is now private residences. Coleorton enjoys easy access to major road networks and local towns but retains all the benefits of a rural environment.
