Summary Report

  • The Parish Council was pleased to co-opt Mr Colin Smith of 55 The Moor as a new Councillor
  • A 20-year management plan for Coleorton Wood will be produced by the end of January 2013. In the meantime, the Volunteer Group is doing great work in the wood and has started to clear the hedges and verges along Pitt Lane.
  • The Council was interested to hear that 63 species of fungi had been found in Coleorton Wood, including two never before recorded in Leicestershire.
  • The Police reported on the increase in the number of thefts of heating oil. They are making considerable efforts to counter this crime and hope to make some advice to householders available soon. Please report any unusual activity to the Police immediately.
  • A reminder that there will be a Remembrance Day Service at St John’s at 10am on 11 November, followed by a parade to the War Memorial
  • Next meeting: 13th December 2012
