Coleorton's Annual Parish Council Meeting Abandoned

On Wednesday May 27th we had to make the regrettable decision to abandon the meeting which was all set up to take place via Zoom. Transmission appeared to allow some members of the public and councillors in but omitted entrance to others, hence we did not have a full council. Various people tried several times to gain access but by 7pm the decision was made to reschedule, we had no choice. We thank the members of public who joined us and express our sincere apologies, but it was out of our hands.

As clerk I will be sending details of the revised date, time, and new logging in details as soon as these are available.

Barbara Whitehouse
Parish Clerk

Covid-19 Response Team meetings

Coleorton Parish Council's Covid-19 Response Team began their work at the beginning of March. We put out a request entitled "Assistance for Coleorton Residents during Corona Crisis". Whilst the monthly Parish Council meeting for March had to be cancelled following government advice for social distancing etc, the councillors have still been active behind the scenes. The councillors and parish clerks have been holding Covid-19 meetings via telecommunications and latterly by Zoom, working out how best to help the self-isolating and vulnerable parishioners. The response from parishioners in terms of offering support to the Covid-19 councillors team has also been encouraging. About the Assistance scheme >>

About Coleorton Parish

Coleorton Parish includes the villages of Coleorton, Coleorton Moor, Church Town and Farm Town as well as parts of Peggs Green, Griffydam and Lount. The Parish Plan survey in 2008 found that parishioners felt communication of information throughout the parish was not effective and so a website was set up to address this. The website has now become a centre of information about activities and events in and around Coleorton, local clubs and organisations, a directory for local businesses and services and a platform for people who would like to share their enthusiasm for local history and the environment.

If you would like to contribute any item about Coleorton or surrounding areas or add details of your club, organisation or event (no charge) or have any suggestions for items on this website please email
